Welcome to spring. We have had a very long winter, but have accomplished many things, and we're not done yet.

First of all, on behalf of our Community Service Chairman, thank you to all of you that have responded to her request for items for the nursing home here in Richfield. The items donated have been wonderful, and the Home appreciates all of this so much. It is great to remember the elderly and those in need.

Election of new officers will be held on April 26. Our meetings begin at 7:00 PM. The list of officers: President - Penny Becker; First Vice President - Patricia Swanson; Second Vice President - Becky Lefebvre; Treasurer - Jill Davis; and Executive Board members - Lavon Whalen and Joy DeLong. Our Junior Past President is Annette Bray.

Some special events coming up: April 30th is the District President Luncheon fund raiser. Her project is special lift recliner chairs for the Veterans Home at a cost of about $850 each. This year the theme is International Potluck. We will be serving items from around the world. So far, we have some very interesting items. The cost is $10 and the luncheon is being held at Post #1 on 25th and 25th in Minneapolis, with social at 11:00 and lunch beginning at noon. If you would like a ticket please contact me. Our Bingo party at the Veterans Home is on May 10th starting at 6:30. On May 14th there will be a luncheon called "People to People Student Ambassadors." Social begins at 12:00 and lunch is at 12:30. Tickets are $15 and you can contact me for a ticket. Check the Commander's column for information on the Memorial Day Service.
