To: Participate in parades and other ceremonies that are in keeping with the Aims and Purposes of the American Legion. To promote motorcycle safety programs and to provide a social atmosphere for American Legion members who share the same interest. To use our Association to promote and support programs of the American Legion through service to our Community, State and Nation. Greetings from Post 435 American Legion Riders. Members of the Post 435 ALR joined other MN ALR members in escorting the Quilts of Valor bus from Underwood MN, through MN on the way to Ft. Knox KY to deliver 610 quilts to injured soldiers. Thirty-six quilters were on the bus, having made the majority of the quilts. They made a stop at the Clearwater American Legion where they were greeted with a breakfast and opportunity to rest and meet the ALR members providing escort duty. Post 435 ALR is planning some rides this summer. These include June 12th to Roscoe's Ribs - July 16 & 17, the POW/MIA run in Underwood, MN - Aug 14th, Camp Ripley Military Museum - and September 18th to New Ulm for Schell's 150th Anniversary. All dates are subject to change and are dependent on the weather. Please feel free to contact the Post 435 ALR with any questions on any of these rides. Also, the MN American Legion Riders are forming a MN Legacy Run to take place from August 21 to 24, covering the state of MN to raise funds for the American Legion Legacy Fund. The American Legion Legacy Fund is tasked to raise money to ensure that no child who loses a parent who is on active duty since 9/11 can attend a school of higher education. Cost of the ride will be $25 per person if you register before August 1. Once we finish the MN portion of the route, we will continue on to Milwaukee for the National Convention. More information will be posted on the web in the near future. If you know of any child that may be eligible, please contact the Post or the National American Legion website.
