To: Participate in parades and other ceremonies that are in keeping with the Aims and Purposes of the American Legion. To promote motorcycle safety programs and to provide a social atmosphere for American Legion members who share the same interest. To use our Association to promote and support programs of the American Legion through service to our Community, State and Nation. Greetings from the Post 435 5th District American Legion Riders! The Chapter is coming into our quiet time with winter setting in. We may still get a few fun rides in if the weather holds. Otherwise we will be starting up again in earnest come spring. We are also in the early stages of planning the 2011 MN ALR Legacy Run to be held in August before the National Convention is held here in Minneapolis. This would be your opportunity to help the kids by raising funds for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund. Wait, what is that you ask? The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund is the charity for which the American Legion Riders have been tasked with raising money. The scholarship is designed to help pay for up to 4 years of post-secondary education for any child that has lost a parent in combat since 9-11. The goal is to raise $20 Million which will ensure all children in this situation will be taken care of. We have consistently surpassed our yearly target goals towards the overall goal. We have pins for sale to raise money for this fund, and we are also looking for donations and contributions to assist us.
